Missy Elliott was a pioneer for women within rap in the 90s when the scene was heavily dominated by men and misogyny. Missy Elliott was promoting feminism long before it was trendy and through her work as a record producer, business woman and artist has inspired artists of today including Nicki Minaj, Meghan Thee Stallion and Lizzo.
